by Nicolas Blank 31 March 2011 Exchange

Load Balancers can be rather complex, the guidance can be confusing, and how vendors interpret that guidance can be interesting. So image my joy when I discovered that F5 have a bunch of webcast based walkthroughs that make life easier for the average guy having to configure an F5 load balancer as part of implementing [...]

by Nicolas Blank 30 March 2011 Exchange

I’ve been working with some folks who are discovering the intricacies of MAPI on Exchange 2010. Since they were feeling some pain on this issue, I thought it may be worth writing about in case more folks are running into the same issue. We’re used to Outlook doing a load of things for us, and [...]

by Nicolas Blank 15 March 2011 Exchange

In Exchange 2010 specifically, or even Exchange 2007/2010 mixed orgs you can easily detect which servers require MAPI encryption. The easiest would be to run Get-RPCClientAccess, which returns all Exchange 2010 servers  hosting MAPI Endpoints and all encryption levels as well as if the server carries  MAPI client and/or public folder responsibility. The output above [...]

Exchange 2010 – Anonymous Receive Connector for Multi-Function Devices and Internal Applications

by Nina Nortje 9 March 2011 Exchange

In transitioning a customer from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010, one of the issues that cropped up was configuring the multi-function printers to be able to send messages internally. Previously one just configured the relay list for the exchange server, and included the application server’s IP address or the multifunction printer/device’s IP address.   Exchange [...]
